The Artist Duo

Before I start off with the subject, I’ve turned 18 last Monday. It was an alright birthday. I got some small gifts, like mini chocolate bars, cards and some money (the money was in most of my birthday cards). Long story short, I haven’t seen the last of the birthday stuff/gifts/events.

Without further ado, time to elaborate on “The Artist Duo” blog article. Earlier at school today, my friend, Jason H. brought up a team artists duo thing where he does the background and I do the cartoon characters. He’s the visual artist and I’m the cartoonist, as he was thinking of those type of facts, he decided to be my background artist. If needed, I can tell him what background is needed and he can do the background stuff (kinda depends on what background I request out of him, though).

Not all backgrounds you’ll be seeing in my cartoons. I’ve made some colorful backgrounds all set for my cartoons if needed (may seem like it doesn’t fit the entire camera size on Toon Boom, but I can fit them myself and also, they’re made in Photoshop). Here are the ones I’ve got all set so far (feel free to use them, as long as you credit me please):

Feel free to contact me if you have any differences requested (color gradient backgrounds that’s not on this picture list in this article).

I have another friend of mine from school that can work for me, with the music stuff. His name is Ray W., he’ll be the musician of my cartoons. So far, the arrangements of my 2 will-be-working friends has been doing good.

Change of Characteristics

While watching Henpecked Hoboes (a Tex Avery Cartoon) and combined the thoughts of Ren and Stimpy, it gave me an idea of the little one as a jerk and the big one as the idiot. So Cocoa will be the little cuckoo jerk and Cheempy will be the stupid canary. Doesn't change Cocoa's slapping activity. Well, what do you expect? Hitting and other violent things are one of the jerks' job.

Cocoa and Cheempy pic introduction

Here are the pictures of Cocoa and Cheempy:

Cocoa:

Cheempy:

Cheempy the Bird

The introduction of their show:

The Cocoa & Cheempy Show

(an introduction spinoff of Ren and Stimpy; also, character spinoffs of Looney Tunes/Tex Avery Show (not the modern 1990s Wacky World of Tex Avery, the old 1940s/1950s classic Tex Avery show), see the “Becoming an Adult and Birdy Ideas” blog article for more information of the inspiration)

See, I told you I would show off pictures. More characters will come soon. ;]
